Then the next weekend we went to Mary Jo's memorial dinner at Fred's house. It was very touching and with all the work I do with Relay, I think about her a lot, and was very emotional that night. It was great to share with the family that in memory of Mary Jo I have been apart of Tracy's Relay and last year we raised over $300,000, the 7th out of 427 Relays in California. I hope to have a team this year called, "Legacy", in memory of her.
For Relay, we did a Public Announcement Service, and had a professional team recorded it to be aired on a local TV station a couple times a week until the event in May. It turned out really good:
Then Kylie got sick. She got the flu and it was so sad. I held the whole time and she was so brave.
For Thanksgiving I asked my mom to teach Natalie and I how to make homemade rolls. She came over the weekend before Thanksgiving and I tried to make the whole "turkey" dinner. What an adventure. I can't say it all turned out well but it was a great learning experience and we had a great time having Grandma over. The rolls were the best part!
On Thanksgiving day we went over to Dan house in San Jose. We had an amazing spread and a great day visiting and eating.
Then the next Saturday we meet up with Stephen to visit the train museum in Sacramento. We spent the afternoon with my dad and Kathy for the holiday. Kylie LOVES trains and since it was the holiday, they had model train tables all throughout the museum and Christmas lights everywhere. The girls loved it and we had a great time visiting with my parents. We had lunch in downtown and walked through the stores. It was really neat when we saw a big train and found out it was The Polar Express. Kylie wanted to go so badly but reservations had to be made like a year in advance. We are thinking about it for next year!
The next day, after church, we did gingerbread houses! I also started making stuff out of felt. I went to a church activity where they showed us how to make felt flowers for hair clips so Natalie wanted to make them for her cousins for Christmas. Of course the boys couldn't get flowers so I found some samples for another felt products such as reptiles and gave it a try.
