We have been so busy lately. I will try to get you all up to speed. I try to take lots of photos so I will let them do the talking if possible as I have so little time!
Here is Natalie doing swim try outs. She made it into the beginning class and will have swim lessons 4 times a week for 30 minutes each at 9:30am. Wow, nothing like having something to get me out of bed and jammies for the summer.
Stephen celebrated his 16 birthday! He got a CD from his favorite band, WOW time, and the new game, Rock Band Metallica. We went out for some delicious sushi. He particapated in a band concert where he played lead guitar and rock out with an awesome solo. Video coming soon!
We had a great weekend, wow almost two weekends ago, with some new friends. I met Chrissy and her family at church when we moved here to Roseville last summer. You can see her husband Corbet and their kids, Marshall 3 and Clayton almost 1, having a blast outside on our new slip n'slide. It was a scorcher that weekend but we made the best of it. The kids all had a great time and Karl had a blast playing with his toys too. He and Corbet flew his helicopter and drove around his remote control car to the amusement of us all.
Natalie's school had an open house where Karl and I got to go check out all the great projects and work they have been doing. Natalie was very cute with a clip board in hand making sure we saw everything. The highlight of the night was the cute little chicks that the class watched hatch and are taking care of. Their names are Scooby and Chocolate, very fun. Natalie is a great student and really likes her teachers and classmates. She has been invited to so many birthdays this year. Her favorite ones have been at BounceU. She really wants her next one to be there. Hey, it's better than Chuck E. Cheese!
Stephen and Natalie tested for their first new belt in karate class. They both made it and have a big gradaution performance coming up this week. Below is Nat getting her last stripe that qualified her to get a yellow belt. I have to admit that it was quite a test for Karl and I too. We both forgot required items for the testing and spent the whole evening running around and stressing. We will have a better handle on things for next time!
Okay, more recently we had a great celebration for Memorial Day Weekend. My sisters totally surprised me when I turned around while I was preparing the house for guests and my sister Leah was standing in the doorway! She decided that same morning to drive out and join Deana's family and Dad and Kathy for a BBQ at my home. We had so much fun.
After playing in the sun all afternoon, Leah and her kids drove home and the rest of us broke out Settlers. (This game has become a new tradtion for us.) Kathy was the winner for the night. I think the game lasted for at least 3 hours. The next day Deana and her family came over again. We ended up playing Settlers 4 times! We played for almost 12 hours. I won once, Karl twice, and then Deana won the last one. Jon was really close though so don't count him out! The kids were all great for us and it was much needed RnR for us adults. Well, that brings me to this week so hopefuly I will keep you better updated going forward!
