This holiday weekend, we took Natalie to Dave and Busters in Roseville to reward her for reading over 5,000 pages over the summer. On the way there was met up with Stephen! We miss him soooo much. Kylie was so happy to see him. We all went to the arcade and met up with the Briggs. The cousins had a blast running around playing games. When Stephen moved out, he gave Natalie his card that had over 4,000 tickets on it. She earned about 1,000 tickets on her own and some random guy kept giving her tickets during our stay there to her delight. She picked out bags full of toys from the store there. Her cousins all made out pretty good too. We ended the outing with yogurt and then headed to the Brigg's to go swimming. Kylie had a blast jumping for the entire time we were at the pool. Then, we had pizza and the adults played Progressive Rummy. The kids went out to the park for a bit and played until it got dark. Our game finally ended with Karl and I neck and neck but I ended up winning! We had a such a fun day that I hope Natalie will remember for a long time.
The next day, I took the girls to church and introduced a new game tothe kids during Primary singing time. I gave them plastic straws to use as batons and taught them how to conduct. It really got their attention and they learned how to pay closer attention to my hand movements. I'm hoping this will get their songs to be more interesting and dynamic for them and the audience. After church, we all packed up and headed out to Uncle Dan's house. They had a BBQ with family and friends. The girls had a blast showing off for everyone and Kylie, of course, delighted everyone with her amazing cuteness. We ended up staying there until after 8pm. We were all toast!
On this last day of our three day weekend, I'm hoping to enjoy a day a little less busy. But laundry, grocery shopping, homework, and entertaining kids all await. Enjoy the ride!
