Karl got the opportunity to go to LA for a Microsoft conference. He says he got to rub elbows with hundreds, if not thousands, of other geeks. He was gone for a week and we really missed him. But while he was gone we kept busy, or at least I did.
The following week I had Tracy Relay's first committee meeting called our Committee Retreat. Just two days afterwards I flew out to LA myself to go to a Relay For Life Summit where almost a thousand other committee chairs gathered for training and inspiration for our upcoming Relay year. Karl and I worked together to get the girls to school and dance. I had to cram a week's worth of homework and studying into about two days. I couldn't have done it without Karl's support!
Karl's conference went great and he returned to find a very cool surprise. His boss informed him that he had been approved for a promotion at work. He is now a senior level programmer but don't ask me the official title because that lingo goes in one ear and out the other!
The girls are loving dance class. Kylie has shown amazing growth in the last few weeks. She went from the pictures I posted a few weeks ago to being able to follow directions and perform the steps all on her own. She loves to dance in her "dance dress" and look at herself move in the mirror. Even at pre-school we have seen her go from unwilling to sit for a few minutes to sitting and paying attention for at least 30 minutes. When I go and sing with the nursery kids at church, she is now one of the little ones who watches and participates with all the songs.
Natalie continues to do well at school and is starting to have play dates with new friends. She is not only scoring well on her tests but is finding inspiration from the lessons and wants to do things like start clubs to help the environment.
Stephen is doing well too. I don't have any interesting news other than he is working about 30 hours a week at Starbucks and getting A's in all his classes. He is still seeing the same girl that he was in the spring and is learning how to live with roommates and all the brings. We are looking forward to spending time with him around the holidays!

Love the outfit MariAnn... I want to see more pics of it. I didn't realize that Karl was in LA before you were there. Crazy times :) Love seeing pictures of the girls... they are growing up so fast.
