Happy Birthdays!

Photo Album: Grandma Bajada's B-day

There are so many birthdays this month that we would like to say Happy Birthday to all! We took a trip out to see Grandma Mary Jo for hers and had a great time. Most people there met Baby for the first time. Aunt Kerry was fighting Grandma for baby time but everyone had a chance to cuddle with the cutie. Baby dealt with all of the attention really well even though she was fighting a cold. We took some great family photos since almost everyone was able to make it. It was so much fun to laugh, eat, and catch up with one another. Hopefully we will be able to do it again soon, maybe Easter!

Big Sister went to her Dad's house in Fremont to celebrate her birthday with his family and she had a nice time too. She turned 7 years old! Mom has a hard time watching her grow up so fast but she is very proud of her big girl. Sister is a wonderful helper around the house and is learning how to be very independent. She loves learning and still hasn't grown out of asking "Why?" about everything she sees and hears. Her favorite subject in school is Math and she really enjoys science as well. She is always asking to build something or do an experiment! Thankfully Dad is thrilled with it and has the knowledge to work with her and teach her all she wants to know.

Happy Valentines!

Photo Album: Valentine Weekend

Valentines weekend was lots of fun. Dad made super cute valentines for Mom and Sister. He also got beautiful flowers, even for Sister! She REALLY liked hers. Mom had Dad go get pampered with a pedicure and then Anutie babysat the girls so Mom and Dad could spend some time togheter. Sister spent the day making cute little heart valentines for everyone in the family and everyone who was coming to visit on Sunday. That night Mom gave Dad a spa treatment at home. The Briggs came over on Sunday and helped make/serve dinner since Grandma and Grandpa Root's family drove all the way over to the house to visit. Grandma spoiled Baby all night long! Baby had so much fun she conked out in Grandma's arms. Everyone had a great time visiting and enjoying lots of good food.

A Day with Baby

Photo Album: A Day with Baby

Now that baby is 6 weeks old she is starting to have a routine to her day. Typically she gets up between 6-7am. She hangs out in her bouncer or on her playmat while Sister and Mom eat breakfast. Some mornings she needs another hour of sleep. Around 9am Mom gives her a bath and they play until Baby goes down for an afternoon nap. After picking up Brother and Sister from school, she plays on her playmat and has 'tummy' time. Baby usually gets fussy at about 4 or 5pm but then loves to sit with the family while they eat dinner as long as Dad is holding her. Finally it is off to bed for the night - or at least for a couple of hours. Then we do it all again the next day!

Going to the Zoo

Photo Album: Sacramento Zoo

Mom and Dad took both the girls to the Sacramento Zoo. It was crazy busy because admission was free that day. Everyone still had a great time seeing the rare and endangered animals there. Afterwards Dad took Sister on a pony ride - way cute. Then we went to Funder Land for some rides. It was a great day!

In Loving Memory

This last month has been a hard one for the family cat, Roo. She has been in a lot of pain and not acting herself. The doctors have tried to help but without surgery there isn't a lot they could do. The hard decision was made to let her go.

Roo has been a member of the family since 1993. She was chosen from all the other kittens because of her amazingly loud purring. (Dad is a big sucker for things like that.) Dad named her Roo because she would bound another the room like a kangaroo! When Mom met her she was pretty much running the house. Even though she had her own cat door, she would get the boys to open the people doors for her. She loved turkey and would always demand some fish any time we opened a can of tuna or had salmon for dinner. Roo's favorite places to spend her lounging hours (which were most of the hours in the day) included Brother's and Dad's beds or in Dad's office. She was notorious for jumping into Dad's chair if he got up even for two seconds! Even though she wasn't a real affectionate cat, it made the times she wanted your attention even more special. The video here is of her right before she got real sick. As you can see she adorable even after 15 years.

Precious Moments

Holding both my girls at the same time
Snuggling in bed with Dad after a midnight feeding
Seeing Baby smile (gas induced as those smiles maybe)
Watching Big Brother play with his sisters
Hearing Big Sister talk to Baby
Laughing together as a family during dinner
Seeing Big Sister 'help' Dad with his projects
Gazing into Baby's big blue eyes
Swapping stories with Big Brother
Catching up with Dad at the end of the day
Hearing Big Sister read books that I read to her
Knowing every day is precious in its own way
